After careful research and consideration into the best online platform on which to present the Slope Stability 2020 Symposium Online Event, the ACG is partnering with Intrado, a specialist in virtual conferencing, with an appealing visual and interactive experience for attendees, and an exceptional offering for sponsors with a virtual exhibition hall, virtual booths and the ability to interact in real-time with attendees, presenters and exhibitors.
Using the platform
The Online Event is now available on-demand until 17 August 2020. You will use your registered email address to login to the event using the URL the ACG will send you. Once logged in, you will see the virtual event space is laid out like a physical conference centre. To navigate, you can either click on the entrances to the different spaces, as labelled in the lobby, or you can use the navigational menu at the top of the page. The areas are as follows:
- Auditorium – here you can view the presentations on-demand until 17 August 2020
- Exhibit Halls – we encourage you to visit the exhibitor booths in the two exhibition halls, which include video content, downloadable information and chat rooms
- Lounge – a central networking lounge in which you can ask questions of authors and interact with fellow attendees
- Resources – a collection of links and downloadable information of interest
- Profile – you can update your own profile with contact information and photo if you wish
- Help Desk – if you are experiencing any technical difficulties or have any questions on how the platform works, this is where you can seek help
Gamification features encourage attendees to make the most of the online event experience by visiting all areas to collect points.
